Henson Holiday card part 2 by lazesummerstone Henson Holiday card part 2 by lazesummerstone
Did you get your Jim Henson Xmas Card?

This was illustration I was commissioned to do this past year for the Jim Henson Company Christmas card! I was very honored to be able to do something for them that contributes to a tiny bit of Jim Henson History!

First time I've seen the Pajanimals in any sort of fan art (I have a 6 year old niece so I have seen it a numerous amount of times to recognize it). You did well.

Yeah haha before I was commissioned to do this xmas card, I had no idea about pajanimals at all! But I quickly learned loads more about them.

Yeah, but the newer ones are a meh. Not bad, but not as good as it used to be. I don't like how they altered some of the songs. Still, I like the show. Yeah, that's right. I like a show meant for toddlers and preschoolers and that wasn't part of my childhood. This is too common for me =P

It's kinda weird seeing Sid and the Dinosaur Train kids in the same picture as Ludo and the Fraggles.

Oh, neato, you got to do the card again! Great Work. My favorite bits are the UrRu on the balcony and seeing Boober play with Emmett. And, hey, those are Doozers from the new CGI series, aren't they?

Who are the silhouettes in the window? Doc and Sprocket come to mind, but I'm sure there are more man-and-dog paiers out there.

Thanks a lot! And those are some impressive eyes you have there! Yep those are the kid doozers from the new animated series (which I've never seen, but it looks cute). The silhouettes are actually the Storyteller and his dog that he narrates to in front of the fireplace! There were actually a lot of different combinations of characters, but this was the final group that everyone liked!

Ahh, The Storyteller. I would have caught that if I'd seen the series more recently thn when it actually aired. Why do I not have it on DVD?

I just spotted a few other things. The girl playing with the jugless band has Gobo's gourd guitar, and Fizzgig has treed the Doozers. The latter amuses me because there was a cave critter in Fraggle Rock that was modeled on Fizzgig.

Man oh man I really need to break out that Fraggle Rock DVD's and watch  them all. I feel like people always bring up certain characters/monsters and I have no memory of them!

Do it! There are worse ways to relax in the evening than watching some Fraggles.

Hehe I recognise a lot of the characters. Is the spaceship Moya from Farscape?

I have the box set :D I recommend it, it's really different and a good show. Ever seen Flight of the Navigator? It's one of my fave films and Jim Henson did the character Max in it.

Oh cool! Yeah I really think Jim Henson needs to do more puppets in movies! They just look better then CG ever does!
